Recently it has come to light that a licensed naturopathic doctor in California has been charged with falsifying covid-19 vaccine cards as well as childhood immunization records in her homeoprophylaxis practice in Napa, CA.
As detailed in our published position statement, we believe vaccines are a scientifically sound, safe, and effective method of preventing infectious diseases. In accordance with the naturopathic principle of Prevention, we recommend immunizations to protect children and adults from adverse consequences of infectious disease.
We have discussed homeoprophylaxis on our blog before, and maintain that homeopathy does not provide immunity to infectious disease. It does not protect the person who takes the remedy and does not prevent transmission of this or any infection to the people around them.
We condemn in the strongest terms the unethical practice of administering homeopathic substances as a form of immunization, as well as the unethical and illegal practice of falsifying vaccine records.
We encourage all naturopathic physicians to recognize the inherent compatibility of immunization and naturopathic philosophy and practice. And we feel deep gratitude for the NDs joining the frontline of this pandemic, including our very own blog contributors and readers.
